Parallel computing in digital image processing
Application with sequential algorithm can no longer rely on technology scaling to improve performance. Image processing applications exhibits high degree of parallelism and are excellent source for multi-core platform. Major challenge of parallel processing is not only aim to high performance but is to give solution in less time and better utilization of resources. Medical imaging require more ...
متن کاملParallel image processing in heterogeneous computing network systems
We present a uniform construct of parallel programming for a set of image processing tasks based on our Distributed Computing Primitive (DCP) concept. Our target architecture is a heterogeneous computing network system consisting of various high performance workstations connected through a local area network. We show that DCP has advantages over non-primitive PVM-based parallel approaches in th...
متن کاملUsing An Image Preliminary Segmentation For Adaptive Subpixel Correlation
This work deals with the subpixel point correspondence problem. Subpixel matching methods such as LeastSquares Correlation [2] or Adaptive Subpixel CrossCorrelation [1] use six-parameter geometric transformation and two-parameter radiometric transformation of the whole image patches to achieve subpixel matching accuracy. However different regions inside image patch may have different distortion...
متن کاملPhase Correlation Based Image Alignment with Subpixel Accuracy
The phase correlation method is a well-known image alignment technique with broad applications in medical image processing, image stitching, and computer vision. This method relies on estimating the maximum of the phase-only correlation (POC) function, which is defined as the inverse Fourier transform of the normalized cross-spectrum between two images. The coordinates of the maximum correspond...
متن کاملRegistration of multidimensional image data via subpixel resolution phase correlation
This method is an extension of the phase correlation method for image registration to multi-dimensional data sets. Through use of a high-order singular value decomposition, phase correlation can be used to identify translational displacements independently along each dimension with subpixel resolution. The validity of this approach is demonstrated using multiple 3D MRI data sets.
